The recipe below gives you step by step guidance – I do have a confession my first batch which I filmed in the video above, I felt were slightly overcooked once they had cooled.  I made another batch for the event I was taking them to.  The second lot where much softer rather than a crispy biscuit so the amount of time in the oven depends on the texture you prefer.  Personally I like the softer bites rather than the biscuit!

Christmas Tree Chocolate Bites

Ingredients

  • 200g Butter, softened
  • 75g Brown Sugar
  • 2tbsp Honey
  • 300g Plain Flour
  • 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180C
  2. Grease baking trays (line with baking paper)
  3. Mix together butter and sugar until pale and creamy - Using either electric whisk or wooden spoon
  4. Stir in sifted flour, cinnamon and cocoa powder until all combined. If mixture is dry add egg to loosen. Bring mixture together into a large ball
  5. Lightly flour rolling pin and counter and roll out dough until about 1cm thick. Using christmas tree cutter, cut shapes and place on baking tray. Conitnue to repeat until all dough is used.
  6. Place in the oven for 5-10 minutes, depending on size of the shapes.
  7. Set aside to cool and enjoy!
