5 Ways to Improve Your Health Today

Easy Ways to Get Healthy

There are so many different methods out there on the internet about how you can get healthier, it can be so confusing.  Here are my 5 changes which I have been following to can improve your  overall health.

Breakfast

Eat Clean Most of the Time

I only discovered the words ‘eating clean’ just over a year ago, once I looked into it I realised the basic principles were what I was working towards doing anyway.   There is lots of information on the internet about eating clean it is generally about eat fresh, whole foods which haven’t been processed, basically all the foods we know are good for us.  For me it is impossible to do this all the time and so the 80/20 is a good way to start.  Eat clean 80% of the time and 20% you can have your treats.

Have a Healthy Mind

There is saying what you think about you bring about, if you are feeling stressed and not having time to yourself this can often have a huge impact on your overall health.  Take some time out to do something that you love which you will enjoy and will help you to relax.  I love to read a book or spend some time in the sauna and jacuzzi at the gym.  It’s not always easy to find the time to look after ourselves but by doing this we will help to create a healthier mind.

Move Your Body Around

As humans we are meant to move and be active.  Find an exercise routine which you enjoy and can stick to, it could be the gym, cycling, walking, karate, the list is endless.   I generally go to the gym because I enjoy it and in the summer months sometimes run or cycle outside.  It is about trying different activities until you find something that works for you which you enjoy.

Drink, Drink, Drink

Water is FREE and is so good for us so utilise it!  Personally I try to drink 2-3 litres of water a day.  It keeps you hydrated, increases your concentration, makes your body function more efficiently.  Sparkling or still water is fine but soda, coffee and alcohol don’t count.

Change to Wholemeal

A simple way of eating healthier food is to move away from white to wholemeal.  This is for your carbohydrates like flour, pasta, rice and bread.  Wholemeal products are not refined in the same way which white products are. In Wholemeal is less processed than it’s white equivalent and so this is where the essential nutrients and dietary fibre exist.  I have been eating wholemeal for years and I think it tastes best!

I hope these tips help you get started on your route to improving your overall health.  Do you follow these anyway?  What other tips can you share to help improve our health?
